The history of the miracle-working icon of St. Anna

On Friday, May 2nd through Sunday, May 4th, Christ The Savior parish will be blessed to have in our presence the miracle-working icon of St Anna, the Mother of Theotokos. The icon currently resides at the Monastery of St Tikhon of Zadonsk in South Canaan, Pennsylvania. Father Sergius, Abbott of St. Tikhon's Monastery will be bringing the icon for veneration and presenting a series of talks over the weekend.

The schedule for the weekend is as follows.

Friday, May 2
6:30 p.m.   Akathist to the Righteous Saint Anna, followed by a
  short presentation by Father Sergius titled “Saints in Big
  Cities”
 
Saturday, May 3
9:30 a.m.   Divine Liturgy, followed by a light breakfast
11:30 a.m.   First Talk — “10 Minute Spirituality”
1:00 p.m.   Break for lunch
2:00 p.m.   Second Talk — “Finding Salvation in a Modern World”
4:00 p.m.   Vigil
 
Sunday, May 4
9:30 a.m.   Divine Liturgy, at which Father Sergius will deliver the
  homily
